Darwin Recruitment are currently hiring for an Engineering Manager on behalf of a business in Stockholm that is a successful Cyber Security. This company has been going since 2015, currently has 75+ employees and is a global company recognized by Gartner, that has been announced as one of Europe's most promising cyber security companies. Their goal is to become world leaders within unified vulnerability management. They offer an entrepreneurial workplace with constantly new challenges and opportunities to learn and develop. Today they operate in several regions in Europe and Asia.

Their platform for vulnerability management is helping hundreds of organizations proactively strengthen their cyber security defence. Accordingly, they have helped their customers avoid many incidents that would have caused serious damage and economic loss. Their platform makes a difference and makes society a safer place.

About the role

Engineering at their company is one of the largest departments where they build and deliver a SaaS and on-premises product to their customers globally. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for a group of engineers that work in various teams. Their teams are structured to focus on an area of the product which they are responsible to drive and deliver. They are in the middle of a scale-up phase where engineering has grown from 6 to 30 people in the last 3 years and continues to grow every month. You as an Engineering Manager should know what it takes to keep customers happy, adopt processes and make necessary changes to continue support continuous growth with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Your daily activities

1. Work closely with product management to ensure they are building products in the best way.

2. Optimize team efficiency and scalability.

3. Engage team and make everyone move in the same direction towards the same goal.

4. Juggle priorities and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.

5. Be data-driven and always seek new ways of knowing and improving your services.

6. Take a lead on key initiatives and large technical projects.

7. Coach and mentor onsite and remote engineers making them grow.

8. Actively support recruitment and onboarding of new employees.

9. Hands-on activities such as code reviews and architecture planning.

Previous Experience

1. 7+ years of developer work experience (ideally with Python as that is our primary language), at least 2 of those as a manager

2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

3. You have hired and led high-performance engineering teams.

4. Have made a major movement or led a change initiative, for example taking a project or team from A to B.

5. You have solid experience from working in an agile development environment.

6. Fluent in English

7. Strong organizational and prioritization skills along with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
