Description
The Cloud Migration Engineer will work within a designated project team using established technologies there to aid and support the successful migrations of our on prem infrastructure over to the new flagship AWS Cloud service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
Facilitate effective working relationship between Cloud Services and wider business.
Proactively escalate Incidents to the Head of Cloud Services or responsible person when targets are expected to be breached, or where technical or functional escalation is needed.
Provide problem management to cloud services related issues.
Technical Skills
- Experience in at least one lift and shift project (on prem to AWS)
- Experience of file migration tools (eg. RoboCopy, StorageX)
- Scripting for automation (Powershell)
- Strong L2/L3 level System Admin VMWARE/WINDOWS/AD - 3 years+ experience
- Good knowledge of IT technology stack (from Servers to LAN, WAN, etc)
- Strong Windows Server Skills (2008, 2012, 2016 etc)
- VMWARE experience
- Active Directory
- Experience of server/application migrations
- Experience File Share migrations (ACL's, AD Groups, etc)
