Description

Lead IP Designer

Up to £325 per day (outside IR35)

London (Remote, UK)

Provide effective, timely and accurate network designs for new and existing design initiatives covering any customer core network and local LAN deployments.

Oversee IP designs produced by third party and junior IP Designers and ensure that they comply with the highest internal and external standards.

Ensuring standardisation across networks are developed and cost effective scalable solutions are produced.

Produce designs that provide high levels of service availability and end user performance.

Produce designs which meet agreed service targets, resilience and restoration requirements.

Supporting requirements capture. This includes dealing directly with client's people as customers.

Liaise with suppliers to confirm design assumptions/supplier capabilities and to support implementation and testing activities.

Ensure designs meet requirements relating to Architecture, Legal/Regulatory, Data Protection, and Security.

Ensure designs are peer reviewed.

Raise Change Requests

Interact with Operations to ensure designs are fully accepted into an operational environment.

Produce a plan both technically and financially for a minimum of three years to ensure the customer's networks are able to compete with our competitiors.

Provide accurate Data Network Design Consultancy to approved projects.

Support and initiating process improvement activities.

Ensure networks and infrastructure elements are correctly capacity managed and fully support FCAPS requirements.

Essential

Fluent English speaker

Very experienced in the areas of Carrier IP Network design, build and support

A strong understanding of IP and associated Protocols

Hands on experience with Cisco networking technologies (IOS, IOS-XR)

Hands on experience with Cisco networking technologies (IOS, IOS-XR)

Hands on experience with Juniper networking technologies (JunOS)

Hands on experience with BIG-IP load-balancing technologies

Understanding of Telecommunications Transmission Systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills required for presenting complex technical concepts

Experience with Remedy or similar service management software

Customer facing experience within a technical environment.

Capable of achieving recognition as expert in a technology area critical to customer's Business.

Team leading capabilities, mentoring and reviewing others.

Strong Influencing Skills.

Desirable

Hands on experience with Arista networking technologies

Service Design skills (services such as Wifi, Cloud, SIP, Internet, Data Centre, Virtualisation)

Experience of working within a mobile network operator environment.

Knowledge of Radius Design and Operation
