Job description
As part of the Group Server team, the application pool is in charge of the management of applications running on Windows/Linux for both (Belgium) and 50Hz (Germany).
The application pool teamlead is responsible for the application pool (current 7 persons) and the 24*7 availability of all Elia Group applications.
Job Tasks
The Application Pool Responsible is responsible for:
- Managing the application pool on following level(s)
- oPeople management
- oResource management
- oPlanning and organization
- oEscalation management
- oFollow up op Service Level Agreements
- oContract mgt (follow up of external service contract)
- Challenging the business requirements (technical) for new or existing applications.
- Make sure that applications are running on appropriate infrastructure according the criticality (High available or not, disaster Recovery plan in place), supported and secured versions ..
- Day to Day management of the group's application
- oInstallation and evolution of the applications
oChange and problem management of the applications
oMonitoring
oIncident management
o24*7 duty service for critical applications
oSecurity of the applications + data protection
Technical skills
- Must have a very broad knowledge and experience regarding application management on Windows and Linux Servers.
- Must have a deep knowledge about Windows Server, Linux, MS Azure
- Must have a very good knowledge on MS SQL, IIS, Mongodb (is a plus)
- Must have a very broad IT knowledge covering infrastructure domains (networking, security)
- Must have a good understanding of ADFS, Loadbalancing, Application Firewalling
- Must have a good understanding of DevOps
Non-technical skills
- Must have at least 5 years' experience as Teamlead of a technical team in comparable companies (min 500 users) and business critical environments.
- Strong analytical skills in identifying problems and pointing out solutions
- Must be customer and business minded
- Able to learn new products and environments quickly
- Able to write/update processes
- Able to present/discuss (to technical audience) the proposed solutions
- Able to deliver pragmatic approaches and keeping solutions as simple as possible
- Able to deal with stress and agreed deadlines

- Working location will be Brussels,(occasionally Berlin (max 3 day's/month) Travel costs will be paid)
