Technical Services Engineer (Server Support) - Northampton - 3 months (OUTSIDE IR35)

My client is currently looking for a Technical Services Engineer's to join their team and assist with the below.

  • Windows server experience (performance monitoring, basic housekeeping/maintenance, patching) environment is mainly Hyper-V based.
  • Familiarity with basic MS Exchange and SharePoint server management (monitoring, patching, basic trouble-shooting)
  • Basic MS SQL server (monitoring backup jobs, very basic trouble-shooting)
  • Environment is mainly Hyper-V based.
  • Citrix server experience (performance monitoring, basic trouble-shooting, etc)
  • Any Skype for Business server experience is a bonus
  • Familiarity with SolarWinds monitoring and trouble-shooting.
  • Basic network trouble-shooting (familiar with Routers, Switches & Wi-Fi APs)
  • Used to working to a ticketing system (we use Fresh but it's like other Service Desk products)
  • Ability to proactively self-assign tickets from the queue & work through to resolution
  • Thorough, methodical and accurate
  • Attention to detail and ability to consistently follow processes.
  • Good, clear spoken and written language and articulation skills to speak to customers (usually customer's internal IT teams)
  • Shifts are 12-hours (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am) 4-on, 4-off pattern including some weekends.
  • At the moment daytime shift is based at our offices in Northampton but overnight is from home however, we are looking at bringing overnights back on site as well.
