Description
Flint is currently working with a large mobile operator who are looking for IP Transport Designers.
What you will be doing:
- Accountable for defining and building the architectural strategy for Technology Innovation Labs 5GSA private networks on behalf of enterprise, primarily focussed in the IP/transport domain.
- Primarily focussed in the IP/transport domain be responsible for the design of cross-functional end to end solutions to meet the brief of the team or project, including strategic recommendation on value-added services and or/guidance on short term cross-functional tactical designs.
- As part of a small team be accountable for maintaining the architectural principles that satisfy both the internal project demand enabling high-quality assurance, proof of concepts and external partnerships and customer service delivery.
- Ownership of the relationship between Innovation labs and design/architectural teams both internally and externally
- Responsible for designing and driving the adoption of emerging technologies for proof-of-concept activities.
- Responsible for designing and facilitating opportunities to sell labs as a service.
- Taking technical leadership of a skilled design team.
Skills Required:
- Deep breadth of experience across technical IP and Backhaul domains in mobile and fixed communication technologies.
- Breadth of experience across all technical domains in mobile and fixed communication technologies including RAN, Core, Transmission and IP.
- Ability to represent highly complex technical issues to a non-technical, senior decision making, audience.
- The ability to understand and track the key technical issues and solutions for multiple, highly complex, project deliveries.
- The ability to visualise the end-to-end design of solutions, and work with SME's to realise a solution.
- Ability to work with incomplete requirement specifications, resolving ambiguities via discussions with the originating functions (eg Marketing, Wholesale, Products etc).
- Knowledge of industry best practice methodologies for analysing, defining and documenting the link between input business requirements and output technical solutions.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience Required:
- In-depth senior-level technical expertise in mobile & fixed telecommunications industry in the role of a senior designer or principle engineer, with business critical, high availability/high throughput/Density systems and networks.
- In depth technical expertise in Mobile Core, RAN, Transmission networks.
- Substantial evidence of delivering and developing market-leading solutions as required by the business
- Good market knowledge of the mobile communication industry
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, best practices
- Evidence of successful negotiating skills, particularly around changing stakeholders opinion.
