Senior IT Operations Engineer - £ per day inside IR35 - Remote/Leeds - 3 months initially

A global managed IT Service Provider is seeking a Senior-level IT Operations Engineer to join their end client's team on an initial 3-month basis.

This role is hybrid working between remote and Leeds based, so the successful candidate must be flexible.

The Role:

  • Responsible for implementing, administering, maintaining and supporting IT Systems, networks and services.
  • Provide high-quality support to internal staff by a combination of telephone, remote access and face-to-face meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage and implement infrastructure projects and upgrades to meet company objectives.
  • Administering and proactive monitoring of Servers, Desktops, Networks, Antivirus, Patching, and other applications
  • Providing technical expertise and authority for 2nd and 3rd line support, including Problem Management
  • Courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and support providers for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware, networks, and software.
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge and participate in change management.
  • Keeping track of the infrastructure assets and inventory
  • Designing and documenting infrastructure processes, procedures, and standards
  • Identify, recommend, develop and implement user training programs to increase end-user computer literacy and self-sufficiency (including help sheets and user guides for end-users)
  • Ensure security and company Firewall compliance is maintained.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

  • High level of experience, competency and knowledge on a range of IT systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner.
  • Analytically minded problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Deadline driven with excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach
  • Self-motivated with a desire to exceed expectations
  • Team player with excellent communication, negotiation and customer service skills
  • Comfortable to train system users in classroom sessions and one to one
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Team leadership experience desirable
  • Previous experience of active involvement in an IT project environment
