FREELANCE SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER - 6 MONTHS + EXTENSION - REMOTE - ASAP START

We're currently working with one of the largest Global IT Service Providers who have already achieved the 'Great Place to Work' and 'Top Employer' Certifications!

The client is currently looking for a Freelance Site Reliabilty Engineer for the Worldwide Consulting Centre of Engineering (CoE) to be part of a Global professional services organization, with focus on automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions.

The selected Engineers will act as consultants to the stakeholders and to the customer by understanding and fulfilling their requirements, while communicating with architects, developers, DevOps, quality engineers and project managers. Their solutions should be following best industry practices, be well tested, and documented. They will advise customers on technical topics on pre-sales calls and might take part in technical presentations, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Role: Site Reliability Engineer

Contract: 40 hours per week - Freelance

Start date: ASAP

Contract length: 6 months + multiple extensions

Location: Remote - Spain / Portugal / Bulgaria (client offices are in these locations)

Experience needed:

Requirements:
  • 4+ years of strong hands-on system administration experience with Linux/Windows operating systems, virtualization and IP networking.
  • Experience with system engineering and administration.
  • Experience with any of the VMware technologies - vSphere, vSAN, NSX, vRealize, vCloud, or WS1.
  • Experience with Bash/PowerShell and Python scripting.
  • Experience with configuration management tools, one or many of the following: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and SaltStack.
  • Experience in troubleshooting technical issues across the OSI layers.
  • Comfortable working in distributed, multinational, and multi-cultural environments.
  • Proven track record of customer management, ownership and advocacy for assuring customers' success.
  • Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
  • Autonomous, pro-active, and goal oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both speaking and writing.
  • Experience with configuration, and management of large and complex data center infrastructure, systems, and operations.
