Role: Contract CCTV Field Service Technician
Length: 3 months initially
Location: Oxford area
Rate: Negotiable
IR35 Status: Outside
Our client is currently looking for a candidate who is keen for a practical, hand-on role for maintenance, repair and fault-finding on fixed and mobile traffic enforcement camera systems. The role is mainly workshop based but will also involve travel to camera locations and customer premises. A background in traffic enforcement camera technology is an advantage, but candidates with experience in related industries with transferrable skills will be considered.
Day to day tasks
- Planned maintenance tasks on fixed and mobile camera systems
- Fault finding and repair of fixed and mobile camera systems
- Assisting development with construction of prototype systems
- Assisting development with testing
- Assisting with installation and commissioning of fixed and mobile camera systems
- Other relevant tasks reasonably requested by the business
Skills required
- Computer literacy
- Good understanding of electronics theory
- Good understanding of customer requirements
- Engaging with colleagues and customers to understand their requirements
- Practical Engineering Skills
- Fault-finding and repair skills
- Ability to construct prototype and pre-production systems
- Soldering
- Experience/willingness to work at height (cherry picker, ladder, scaffold tower, etc.)
- System installation including mounting, configuration, and setup for testing
Additional skills
Candidates with experience in some of the following will have an advantage:
- A formal electrical and/or electronics qualification
- Programming Routers, setting up VPNS, and data communication networks.
- Digital imaging systems
- Traffic enforcement cameras
- Automatic number plate recognition
- Awareness of Government certification or approval standards
