Network Engineer (Verification & Validation) - INSIDE IR35 - Up to £450 per day - SC Cleared - NEWPORT, SOUTH WALES - 6 months - SINGLE STAGE PROCESS

Yolk Recruitment is recruiting for a Verification Engineer to join our client's Network Engineering team on site in South Wales for a minimum period of 6 months.

Job Summary

The Verification Engineer is responsible for executing allocated Verification Work Packages within agreed cost, time and quality constraints.

The Verification Engineer is responsible for demonstrating that the developed product meets all specified legislative and customer requirements, by

• specifying and implementing the test solution
• improving efficiency of testing but implementing Automated Test solution where practicable
• performing in-house and/or external testing
• adequately documenting the tests and test results
• controlling and reviewing work of the members of their team (where a team exists)

The Verification Engineer is an acknowledged company expert in at least one aspect of testing, and is required to apply this expertise across more than one project at a time.
The role will form the primary point of contact for project verification and validation for both the internal and external project teams and will include significant amounts of customer contact.

Job Profile

• Successful coordination and communication is a critical part of this role. The job holder interfaces with external technical bodies, customers, users, subcontractors, project management, engineering services and engineering development teams, as well as their own team.
• The Senior Verification Engineer should ensure that a Verification and Validation strategy and plan is followed within their specialist area of expertise.
• The primary focus of the job is Tactical - delivery of project funded Work Packages. In addition the job has a subsidiary element to contribute to Verification and Validation engineering process improvement in the job holder's specialised area of expertise.

Technical Challenge:

• Review and develop the Test Plan
• Review and develop Test Scripts
• Develop Test Traceability Matrix
• Contributes across all relevant company projects to provide leadership in area of specialised expertise.
• Needs to understand and devise intricate solutions to complex problems after lengthy and involved analysis
• Needs sustained technical understanding of all issues required to manage verification and validation of complex equipment
• Needs to identify, isolate and demonstrate failures in the product under test, and identify likely causes and possible solutions.

Management Challenge:

• Needs to control the work of the Verification and Validation team, including elements subcontracted to external test houses, to deliver the allocated project Work Packages
• Needs to operate as project Verification and Validation team lead
• Needs to use political and influencing skills to reach agreement on Verification and Validation matters with customers, project management, and company engineering and support teams.

Skills/Experience Required:

Minimum of 5 years professional experience

Experience of testing of infrastructure technologies:

• HP Server hardware
• VMware vSphere
• Microsoft Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, SQL Server clustering
• Microsoft Window 10
• Firewall appliances
• Backup and Restore systems
• Network Management systems

Ideal but not essential experience:

• Splunk services
• Cryptography systems
