CONTRACT - HYBRID - OUTSIDE IR35 - 6 months - STORAGE - VMWARE

Our London Based client is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join there busy team.

The contractor role is required to support an existing team of Storage Engineers for.

  • Delivery of a current in-flight Project activities for a full refresh of our on-prem Storage Environment, including migration from existing to new refreshed HW.
  • Installation and configuration of new Storage HW.
  • Relocation of existing Storage HW.
  • Maintain Service Levels on current Storage Technology.

Accountabilities

  • Storage technical services are delivered and maintained using approved processes and tools.
  • Using monitoring and reporting tools, rectify any operations that are running outside of their normal state. Ensure all HW, SW and service configuration elements are recorded correctly.
  • Contribute to the design of and plan technical changes; deliver and test infrastructure technologies.

    • Experience (Essential )

    • Experience of implementing, upgrading, migrating, maintaining, and decommissioning Storage technologies in enterprise environments.
    • Experience of providing Storage technologies support out of hours.
    • Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Storage technologies and its implementation in complex enterprise sized environments.
    • Strong knowledge of technical techniques in the following: - IT Infrastructure Technologies, System Security, Acceptance Testing - including operational, user, functionality and others as required.

    Essential - (SME) expert knowledge of enterprise storage technologies for block, file and backup

    Knowledge

    Experience of HPE Blade enclosures and Dell PowerEdge Enclosures

    Experience of VMware and VMware vSAN in relation to storage activities

    Experience of Azure/AWS Cloud - especially in relation to the storage backup environments. Experience of implementing, upgrading, migrating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and decommissioning storage technologies in enterprise environments. Experience of Remedy and Change control processes

    Experience of DevOps boards
