Jefferson Frank are looking for an Infrastructure Project Consultant who is SC Cleared (Must have), to work with one of our clients who are a UK based consultancy. It will be a 3 month contract inside IR35. The project consultant role is to transition solutions into the clients 3rd party data centres, to neet planned budgets and timescales. May need to work remotely, home based or on sites.
The role of the Project Consultant is to:
Provision/decommission of hardware into the Datacentre complying to DCM processes.
Cabling of Servers following documented Low Level Designs and best practices.
Install/Patching/Firmware upgrades following documented Low Level Designs and best practices.
Provide cost estimates on changes.
Liase with 3rd parties to develop minor Low Level Designs in line with High Level Designs.
Identify Performance Issues & Design & Test Disaster Recovery Plans
Key Skills
- Perform OS Install/Patching/Firmware updates inline with best practices.
- Maintain security and documentation standards (ISO90001 AND ISO27001).
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Identify and assess technical issues and risks.
Essential Experience
- Strong understanding of ITIL and change management methodology
- Understanding of security and secure environments.
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage, backup and network configurations
- Experienced in Unix implementation.
- Strong familiarity with virtualisation concepts (Oracle VM, VMWARE, AIX LPARS)
Beneficial if you have:
Experience of more than 3 Unix/Linux operating systems.
Advanced Cisco IOS skills & experience
Strong familiarity with a wide range of Firewall vendors (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, McAfee)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, IP address allocation & management
WAN installation/migration experience
Experience of Cisco Nexus and Cisco series Switches.
Experience of Multi Context Firewall environments such as Cisco ASA, Fortinet VDOMs, Checkpoint VSX.
Ability to implement High Availability Multi-Vendor Enterprise Telecoms Solutions (Including but not limited to Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Macfee)
Experienced in San implementation.
Experience of more than 3 storage
Experienced in Backup implementation
Strong familiarity with virtualisation concepts (Oracle VM, VMWARE, AIX LPARS)
Platforms or backup software/platforms.
Ability to implement fully resilient storage architecture.
