Description

I am recruiting for an experienced DevOps Engineer to work on a hybrid basis. 2 days in Manchester, 3 days remote.

The role falls inside IR35 so you will need to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract.

Active SC Clearance would be preferred but the client is willing to sponsor candidates through this level - you must be eligible.

Candidates must have strong experience of DevOps.

You must be ready to quickly get to work within an agile multi-disciplinary team of developers, designers, analysts and architects.

The client is looking for the kind of person who enjoys a challenge. You will be working with hundreds of microservices across hundreds of instances alongside tens of delivery teams.

Day-to-day you will be using your experience and technical skills to support the programme to design, implement, operate and evolve new and existing services and infrastructure. You'll be using well established technologies within strict security constraints, that you're welcome to challenge.

Strong Linux Operating Systems: RHEL/CentOS 7/8, Use, operate, configure, patch and secure is required.

You will have solid security skills including TLS& PKI, Cloud Security, CIS Benchmarks, NCSC Cloud Security Principals.

Expertise in TCP/IP, Routing, DNS, VPC Peering, VPC Endpoints.

Cloud Provisioning such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Cloud-init & also general Cloud experience including Deploying, Supporting, AWS (compute, networking, storage), GCP (compute, networking, storage).

Virtualisation skills such as EC2, VMWare & Monitoring and Metrics including Graphite, Prometheus, Zabbix, Alert Manager, Pagerduty, Cloudwatch, Splunk.
