The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect with excellent communication skills to work with one of our major government clients delivering a critical project.

This role will sit within a hosting team and will require expert knowledge of VMware products and a broad spectrum of infrastructure knowledge.

There are two roles on offer, one requires the successful candidate to work exclusively on-site in Milton Keynes due to the sensitive nature of the project.

The other architect can work remotely 2 to 3 days per week.

Applicants must hold active SC or DV clearance. Applicants without SC or DV clearance need not apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To produce design documentation for technology solutions, eg high level designs and low level designs
  • Supporting projects through pre-discovery, guiding and assuring technology alignment to strategy and desired outcomes.
  • Lead designs through DDA (Digital Design Authority).
  • Support, guide and assure the Hosting Service Owner with the delivery of an enduring technical strategy.

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of VMware products.
  • Very strong knowledge/experience of a broad spectrum of infrastructure technologies to support designs and assurance. Including hardware layer, storage, clustering, high availability, backups (ideally VEEAM), monitoring.
  • Experience of working within Agile projects.
  • Preferably experience working in Central Government Departments
