L1 Network Engineer- 12 month contract (likely to extend)
- Rate dependant on experience
- 2 days a week onsite in Brussels
The candidate will have to perform 1st level support one week a month. This means all round knowledge of client/workstation (Wintel/AD/O365) infrastructure. Taking ownership where possible, delegate & follow up otherwise. Average of 5 tickets/day in the last 6 months.
On the other hand they would need to be able to maintain one specific area of our infra. Either Linux (CentOS) or Networking (Fortigate).
Our server & network infra is outsourced so little hands on but more design & management.
They will need to monitor their part of the infra, sparring with the supplier, following up tickets, creating and documenting changes related to infrastructure improvements.
As we are foreseeing a lot of small business projects, I expect them to translate the architectural designs into technical documents and oversee the implementation via technical projects/changes with the third party.
The biggest challenges for the next year(s) I see are :
- - facilitating the transfer from one outsourcing company to the other
- - prepare the move of our datacenter to a new location.
- - Migrating our network infrastructure to Fortigate equipment
- - Implement a mix of more than 50 (little) business projects
- - Implement some form of monitoring for apps, infra, cloud & Kubernetes.
Located in Brussels and a minimum of 2 days/week in the office is required.
English is the main language but any additional language is a plus, especially Dutch & French.
