We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Cloud DevOps Manager to join their team for a three-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

This role entails working in an agile environment - by combining your team management skills, DevOps know-how and experience with cloud platforms.

The Cloud DevOps Manager will provide guidance to team members, maintain a working relationship with the SDDC/Cloud infrastructure Architects and promote awareness among end-user organizations, and maintain management-level relationships with the 3rd line support teams.

In addition, the Cloud DevOps Manager will drive the overall definition, marketing, and delivery of the cloud-based service offering(s), and collaboratively works with service partners, to define the cloud-based services.

They are responsible for the overall day to day operations of running Cloud Services.

Provide technical capability, support and maintenance for our Cloud-based platforms across the group including the delivery and documentation of the following:

  • Operational, initiative and project-based activities
  • Capacity and availability management
  • Performance and Obsolescence management
  • Patch, vulnerability and anti-virus management
  • Technical design and implementation
  • License & Vendor management
  • Backup & Disaster recovery management/capability
  • Operating system hardening
  • Audit & Compliance
  • Provide key input into solution design, strategy & road-maps
  • Resource management, covering both permanent & contract resource (on & offshore).
  • Handling user problems on-call 24/7, 365 support
  • Required Skills/Experience

  • Good knowledge of Cloud toolsets, public, hybrid, and private.
  • Significant experience in leading service teams fast-paced environment
  • Strong record of people management in a technical environment, including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven business planning experience, demonstrating a track record of success as a business leader and have the ability to collaborate with various groups to achieve mutual success
  • Timeliness in all actions with quality consciousness towards services received and provided
  • Strong vendor management experience. Expertise in driving operational efficiency's through innovative partner and vendor management
  • Effectively gathers information, structures clear reasons for decisions and leads debate where required.
  • Good experience designing, integrating and deploying systems in a dynamic, high-pressure working environment
  • Experience in analysing, assessing and resolving complex technology requirements, problems and issues
  • Solid ability to work logically through a delivery schedule, working out quick win delivery and strategic goal implementation
