Database and Application Support x6 - Remote working
SC clearance (ideally held currently, will consider applications without)

SERVICE REQUIREMENT
The Role
This role sits within teams that are responsible for developing and maintaining ES systems on both Legacy and emerging platforms. Providing detailed system specifications and/or building specifications into architecturally accurate systems, the role is essential for the development of new, and the maintenance of existing, ESG data production systems.

TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities
. Builds components of existing and new systems based on detailed system specifications in accordance with architectural standards and development frameworks
. Undertakes systems configuration and unit testing of systems within Economic Statistics . Supports Business Areas in undertaking fault analysis and resolution
. Understanding of Economic Statistics concepts and methods relating to system under development
. Identify customer requirements and work collaboratively with methods specialists to produce detailed system specifications
. Apply project management principles to work packages within system development projects
. Manage and develop staff

Essential Skills

Experience of working with production or analysis platforms used in National Accounts
Experience of using software applications for analysis and reporting
Evidence of applying problem solving skills to deliver robust solutions
Evidence of prioritising own work and supporting others, to meet development objectives
Good written and verbal communication with experience of communicating technical elements to non-technical staff
Ability to successfully establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders
Evidence of coaching less experienced staff and actively develop own staff Evidence of continuing professional development of own skills
Able to ensure their team has a clear understanding of their objectives and timeframes Able to explain how their team's work fits in to the wider area Is an effective role model (leads by example, is approachable, shows enthusiasm, challenges inappropriate behaviour)

The role is less about coding and more about data analysis and problem solving in a system context.
