Data Management and Engineering Strategic Lead
Pay: £600-£700 per day (inside IR35)
6 months Initial Contract
100% remote working
A Data Management & Engineering Strategic Lead is required by our Local Authority client based in Huddersfield. The Data Management & Engineering Strategic Lead will be required to create and lead a new data management and engineering function responsible for improving data quality and data management. The Data Management & Engineering Strategic Lead will build and develop the data engineering practice to maximise the value from our client's data assets and ensure they work with data in the most effective and efficient way possible.

. Significant experience of building, developing and managing high performing data development/engineering teams.
. Experience of leading and supporting staff through significant change.
. Significant demonstrable experience of enterprise-wide design, development and implementation of data architecture, data engineering and data management within a large and complex organisation.
. Experience of developing and implementing policies, procedures, standards and frameworks to support improved data management and data quality.
. Experience of designing and implementing robust testing requirements and conditions based on an assessment of risks associated with individual projects.
. In-depth knowledge and awareness of advances in data technology and approaches.
. Experience and knowledge of the different approaches required when working with a wide range and variety of data types and data sources including structured and unstructured data.
. Experience of leading the design, development, and maintenance of metadata repositories and data catalogues including establishing robust governance processes to keep these up to date.
. Experience of reviewing existing data processing, data management and data quality practices and delivering efficiencies through the development and deployment of data automation.
. Strong and detailed understanding of data governance, data security and data protection legislation.
. Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships at partnership, senior and management level.
