Job title: Mobile Telecoms Network Solution Architect
Location: Bristol or Birmingham (hybrid 2 days per week on site)
Rate: £600 per day inside ir35
Job Description:
An excellent opportunity for an experienced E2E Solutions Architect to join a leading mobile operator. You will have accountability for the delivery and ownership leading communication and data services. You'll be involved in the design and delivery of large solutions/services that span multiple domains. Leading the project from initiation to launch and interacting with all parts of the business to ensure a timely and quality service introduction.
Role Responsibilities:
- E2E Solutions Architect role requiring proven design experience and a focus on design completion, delivery and governance/assurance
- Requirements gathering
- Creation of HLDs working with designers from multiple domains
- Assurance - supporting designs through any ongoing issues and liaising with relevant teams through to successful delivery phase
- Architectural governance - applying best design practices to produce high quality designs ensuring simple, cost effective solution delivery
- Act as design authority - author end-to-end design documents and high level process flows, vendor assessment and selection, package evaluation and roadmap definitions. Reviewing and approving design docs
- Operational Assurance - support cross-functional teams to ensure capacity and in-life performance of solutions is optimised and meet operational KPIs
Experience required:
- Experience of designing high availability systems and delivering end-to-end solution designs with a mobile or fixed line operator/vendor
- Experience of solving end-to-end design challenges that have significant interaction between multiple systems and domains
- Demonstrable experience and/or expert knowledge of two or more of the following:
- 3G Mobile Packet Core architecture
- 3G Circuit Switched Core architecture
- CS Voice, messaging or popular Internet communication service architecture
- Mobile Service Control architecture
- Billing Integration, Real Time rating and charging
- Internet architecture including IP Networks, IP routing and IP Security Principle
- Good working knowledge of Mobile Service Platforms, Smartphones, Mobile Broadband devices (modems, Routers) and related applications
- Operational experience of mobile communications networks and business support systems
- Experience of technical Vendor Management
- Experience of programme and project management principles
