Job Title: O365 Solutions Architect

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Location: Milton Keynes, 4 days in month to office rest remote

Purpose of the role:

  • The purpose of this role is to accelerate the delivery of Microsoft Office 365 services to VWFS (UK) consumers (end users) by ensuring we have a solution design that is able to provide Office 365 services that are seamlessly integrated into the broader Digital Workplace services and engineered in a manner that delivers services to consumers that remain; available, performant, secure, compliant and reliable.
  • Most importantly, enable the delivery of services to the organisation that enhance productivity, collaboration and offer a frictionless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and document the key requirements (functional and non-functional)
  • Develop and maintain a design for the deployment of Microsoft 365 services into the VWFS (UK) infrastructure landscape - to be documented in standard documentation and tools (including High Level Design (HLD), Low Level design (LLD), Confluence, Sparx Enterprise Architect)
  • Ensure the solution remains operable by following the VWFS (UK) service transition processes and documentation standards - specifically ensuring the required roles, responsibilities and processes are defined to support a public cloud platform service.
  • Collaborate across a broad spectrum of teams and stakeholders (UK and Germany HQ) to ensure requirements and designs are produced, refined and optimised to ensure programme delivery and operational objectives
  • Participate in the programme planning by supporting the product owner (and other stakeholders) to delivery capabilities in an agile manner with an objective to deliver tangible value to end user consumers sooner, and in an incremental manner
  • Identify and analyse solution design/engineering risks and issues with an objective to proactively highlight, document, analyse, manage and mitigate and/or obtain acceptance (if appropriate) from relevant stakeholders.
  • Support broader teams and stakeholders by communicating and sharing knowledge, based on previous experience

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Expert level knowledge, and enterprise scale experience in the following technologies:
    • Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD
    • Microsoft Exchange (particularly the enablement of hybrid configurations)
    • Microsoft 365 (inc. OneDrive and Teams)
    • Microsoft 365 Security (PIM, legal hold, ATP, AIP, RMS etc.)
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Azure (as relevant for Microsoft 365 services)
    • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise
    • Microsoft Office migration planning and deployments (eg, Pro-Plus)
    • Microsoft InTune (for device and application management)
    • Veritas Enterprise Vault (EV)
  • Citrix Virtual Desktop - specifically the deployment of Office365 services within a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment, including Microsoft Teams with media support (voice and video)
  • Okta IAM - directory integration to support Office 365 services
  • Experience of working and delivering in an Agile environment
  • Sound understanding and experience of ITIL, Service Management and IT Operations (including Incident, Problem and Change management)
  • Experience of designing, engineering and delivering Microsoft 365 services within a complex environment at enterprise scale (including Citrix and Okta integration)
  • Ability to produce quality documentation (including visual diagrams) to capture architectures, designs and engineered solutions (eg, HLD, LLD, system context diagrams, logical and physical models).
