Your key activities that the role/activity will cover is risk and Control identification & documentation engaging with senior leaders in the business. I'm after somebody who has experience in risk management or wider assurance/audit work

To lead, manage and deliver the management and understanding of Enterprise Risk Management within the ESO. To lead, manage and deliver Risk Management processes and KPI reporting across ESO.

As Risk Lead, you'll be responsible for playing a key role in the development and implementation of the risk appetite and the long-term risk strategy within the ESO. Supporting the Audit & Risk committee and Board in ensuring effective risk management is taking place by 1st line risk owners and the wider ESO Leadership Team. Provide expertise in risk management, training and general building capability to support the rsk strategy.

You will be working with our colleagues across ESO to lead on risk activities which demonstrate our management of risk is properly designed and operating as intended.

  • Lead all aspects of risk monitoring and reporting across ESO including undertaking quarterly risk reviews - review and challenge the level and controls identified for each risk.
  • Lead the business in identifying and defining risks issues across the ESO.
  • Ensure that ESO functions are compliant with their licence conditions and report incidents to the Group Assurance. Ensure that suitable processes are in place to monitor ESOs compliance with licence conditions.
  • Develop and deliver a Risk Appetite for ESO providing a structure for the development.
  • Undertake the Risk champion role within the enterprise risk management system which acts as a central hub for risk recording and reporting.
  • Support the business to populate the Corporate Enterprise risk management system by monitoring updates and offering training and support in its use.
  • Develop and maintain Community of Practices, Champions Networks within the ESO and wider NG business, performing facilitator role

Technical/Specialist skills and Exp

  • Must have deep understanding of the energy sector - in terms of structure, regulatory environment and the short and long-term issues affecting the industry
  • Deep experience and knowledge of Risk Management including tools, processes and systems
  • Business change experience, including effective communications, business engagement and stakeholder management
  • Good people management and interpersonal skills.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent plus significant experience of risk in the energy industry or a similarly heavily regulated industry
