My client is looking to set up a team that will be responsible for new processes and deliverables of FinOps
Collaborating with finance and technology leaders and then running the FinOps process.
The roles will need to define budgets, forecasts and actuals of cloud spend collaboratively, set savings targets across different optimisations and a show back process for cost consumption.
Overseeing and tracking the execution of the cost optimisation is also a key part of the role, whether manually or automated.
Duties will include
Setting up and running the Cloud FinOps function
Developing the operating model, processes and key metrics for the new finops function
Agreeing the budget, forecast and actuals tracking for Cloud FinOps
Owning and optimising the FinOps tooling in conjunction with vendor plus defining the technical integrations and automation where appropriate
Responsible for realising reduction in the cloud spend in conjunction with Head of Cloud Adoption
Defining technical requirements to execute the required optimisations, such as VM right-sizing or automating duty cycles of test environments.
Develop and embed cloud FinOps best practices and standards in collaboration with stakeholders
Acting as a central point for cloud FinOps strategy and adoption
To be considered for these roles you will need to be able to demonstrate
2years+ experience in Technology and/or Finance.
* This role operates at the intersection between Finance and Technology so experience in both sectors is important.*
Operating in Cloud technologies using FinOps techniques and processes
A strong communicator and good listener, able to present ideas coherently leading to achieving a consensus, even where stakeholders are from a diverse range of business areas.
Excellent collaboration & influencing skills with an ability to gain the respect/buy-in from your stakeholders across the company
Proven ability to lead and develop others: hiring the right talent; actively developing your team to perform to the highest standards; delivering through other teams and leaders.
Demonstrable experience devising, managing and deploying a resource plan and budget to maximise impact
Experience with global technical implementations of commercial systems.
FinOps Practitioner certification very favourably looked upon.
Azure Fundamentals or higher certification also very good.
