Description
We are looking for a Senior Accessibility Specialist for one of our public sector clients. They will be responsible for effective Assistive Technology support and guidance for all staff and for accessibility testing for line of business applications to ensure products and services are accessible as per WCAG AA guidelines.
- Rate: £550 per day
- Inside IR35
- Length: 12 months
- Location: National, 2 days on site, 3 days remote
As a Senior Accessibility Specialist you will:
- Taking the Lead on preventing and fixing Accessibility and Assistive Technology issues.
- Helping and guiding other Teams to deliver Accessible solutions and services.
- Testing and documenting accessibility issues to ensure compliance with WCAG AA guidelines. Highlight impact on customers, and if possible, suggest fixes.
- Engage with stakeholders to build relationships to foster & support digital accessibility.
- Work as a team player and support colleagues and share knowledge.
- Reviewing and ensuring new products and services are accessible before go-live, and do not negatively impact the AT user community.
- Organising and facilitating UAT of digital applications for accessibility or assistive technologies (software and hardware).
- Documenting processes for the team, other resolver groups and end users.
- Ensure AT installations are completed within SLA and meet the workplace assessment requirements.
As a Senior Accessibility Specialist, you will have:
- Good working knowledge of Digital Accessibility & Assistive Technology.
- Have designed, implemented and supported IT services to a user base in excess of 1000 across a number of sites.
- Awareness of Assistive Technology equipment and software such as JAWS, Dolphin Super Nova, Dragon Naturally Speaking, TextHelp, Claro Read Pro and ZoomText.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of using Scripting and automation.
- Awareness of WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
- Be proficient in IT system testing and creating detailed test reports.
- Experience supporting Win10 operating system.
- ITIL knowledge essential in Incident, Problem, CSI, Change, Knowledge.
- Strong support experience of InTune, Azure and Azure Active Directory administration.
- Proven experience supporting line of business applications, Win10 and office productivity suites, Office 365 core apps, MS Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Experienced in providing advice and guidance related to IT accessibility raised as part of workplace adjustments.
- Ability to solve problems for Assistive Technology users ..
- Knowledge of the Equalities Act 2010 and of the accessibility requirement for public sector bodies.
- (Desirable) Accessibility certifications (IAAP - CPACC, WAS).
- IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals
- CPACC - Certified Professional in Accessible Core Competencies
- WAS - Web Accessibility Specialist
