Security Engineer - Hybrid Working - Outside IR35
Our client, a leading Insurance group, are currently looking to hire a Security Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. This role would be Hybrid working.
This role forms part of a Global IT Security team that is responsible for the continued cyber security and security operation support of the global on premise and on cloud infrastructure. This role includes the provision of escalation security support to the Service Desk, Desktop Support, participation in Infrastructure Security projects and being responsible for Information Security Management System (ISMS) administration and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cyber Security technical analyst, taking responsibility for leading, guiding, supporting and delivering the architectural design for the clients cyber security maturity programme.
- Identify areas of cyber security improvement to ensure security and privacy by design controls are adopted globally as outlines in the clients Security and configuration Standards Document (HSCSD)
- Support the integration of new cyber security technologies that meets the next generation threats and can be adopted by the client globally
- You will be required to travel to the local sites, data centre or multiple offices location to complete your tasks for off the network countries
- Firewall management, Web Proxy management, Anti-Virus/Malware management
- Organise monthly Security Operations Meeting/IT Security Forum
- All activities and findings must be recorded and stored as this will be used as evidence during COBIT 5, PCI DSS and Security review, internal and external audits.
Security legislation and regulatory frameworks exposure and awareness:
- FCA or equivalent
- GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation
- PCI DSS - Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard
- COBIT 5 - Control Objectives for Information and related Technology
- ISO 27001 - Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- CIS - Center of Internet Security (Cyber security best Practices)
Professional Qualifications and background:
- At least 4 to 8 years' experience in an Infrastructure security technical solution architecture/engineer role.
- Be highly cooperative with the current team, management structure and team at large.
- Demonstrate a very high level of customer service and empathy to the customer issues delivering solutions while maintaining costs low.
- Worked in Financial Services or Insurance industry previously
- Be an excellent communicator
