Description

Our client is a well-established Global organisation urgently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer/Modern Workplace Specialist to join their team on a temporary basis for 3-6 months. Hybrid working.

As the Desktop Support Engineer, you will support, maintain, develop and optimize key functional areas, across Microsoft Office 365 cloud applications and services, client platform technologies, enterprise device management and application deployment, manufacturing shop-floor applications, audio-visual and printing to ensure the business can run all IT aspects at the highest standard.

Key responsibilities as the Desktop Support Engineer include but not limited to:

  • Provide technology, data and process support for an effective IT service across the organisation, with commensurate travel as appropriate.
  • Support, administration, maintenance and optimisation of key functional areas across IT (Microsoft Office 365 cloud applications and services, client platform technologies, enterprise device management and application deployment, manufacturing shop-floor application, audio-visual and printing).
  • Hardware provisioning
  • Asset and licensing management across the MW scope as directed by the operations team.
  • Carry out duties to ensure compliance with policies, standards and procedures (operational, legal, regulatory) in accordance with governance mandates.
  • Support and be part of business process's eg major incident process, capacity management
  • Drive continuous improvements in technology in relation to the operations team scope. This includes being involved with new technology research, defining standards, selection, implementation, and maintenance of technology to adhere with policies and standards.

Key skills & experience required as Desktop Support Engineer:

  • 3+ years' experience in Desktop Support Engineer/Modern Workplace/End User Support
  • Must have hands-on experience with complex systems and multiple business locations
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server (AD, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience in at least 2 of the following technologies: Azure AD, Intune device and app mgmt., SCCM with application packaging, AutoPilot and PowerShell Scripting, Office desktop apps, Office365 with EMS and associated Scripting, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Citrix/RDS
