Description

My client, a Government department responsible for critical infrastructure in the UK seek a Asset information system specialist. This role will support the organisation in the form of Asset Information System administration and related system configuration activities. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of asset information system management in an asset intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring system performance, analysis of reported or potential issues, managing and raising support calls with the system vendor

Responsible for producing requirements specification for system development/enhancement

Responsible for carrying out acceptance testing on bug fixes and/or new functionality releases to ensure the releases meet requirements

Responsible for compliance with Digital Engineering standards, specifications and operating procedures and Suppliers.

Responsible for developing and delivering training and support to relevant business functions, Delivery Teams and our Suppliers regarding standards, specifications, tools and operating procedures.

Responsible for identifying areas for system improvement and feedback into information requirements, specification development and standards creation Contribute to the management of Common Data Environment and governance of information, with a particular focus system configuration

Enable integration and interaction of the Asset Information Management System with the wider Digital Engineering landscape

Contribute, when required, to undertake transformation of data for other functional uses and facilitating appropriate data assurance and approval by others.

Support and undertake asset data loading, extraction and cleansing when required.

Contribute to the delivery of the Digital Engineering programme. This could include but is not limited to, benefits realisation, integration and evolution of data standards and tools, and raising awareness of organisations Digital Engineering strategic goals, Supply Chain and external stakeholders.

Experience and skills required

Ability to analyse user requirements or process changes and carrying out impact assessment on the Asset Information Management System

Ability to diagnose, analyse and investigate issues/problems relating to the Asset Information Management System Ability to analyse user requirements or process changes and carrying out impact assessment on the Asset Information Management System

Stakeholder Management - Identification of stakeholders, analysis of their expectations and requirements, and development of appropriate strategies to work with stakeholders.

Communication - Ability to manage relations with both internal and external stakeholders. Good negotiation skills to manage expectations Knowledge:

Knowledge of and familiarity with Asset Information Management Systems and how they support asset design, construction, operations and maintenance, and asset management strategies.

Knowledge of procedures and information system requirements for rail or other asset intensive infrastructure environments

Knowledge of systems administration and configuration management

Knowledge of asset data and ontologies

Awareness of Asset Management techniques and principles

Knowledge of system administration and system testing techniques knowledge of XML and web services testing

Knowledge of data quality techniques and data assurance processes

Knowledge of BIM Processes as outlined in ISOI 9650 and related industry standards

Knowledge of Information governance and change control processes and methodologies

Awareness of Data Integration, Analytics and Visualisation

Awareness of Data Specialism: CAD data management Awareness of data specialism: Geospatial data management Type of experience:

Data management, and data quality & assurance experience throughout the entire project life cycle.

Experience of working with open formats to enable data interoperability and encourage a software agnostic approach.

Experience of Asset Information System configuration and support preferably in a Rail Asset Information environment

Experience of working within set standards, processes and systems but with an expectation to contribute to decision making on process improvement.
