Description
We currently have a requirement for a Lead Wintel Engineer, to assist our client, a leading global IT outsourcing organisation, on an initial 4 month contract due to start early Feb and run until the end of May, with the possibility for further extension.
Due to the nature of this role and as advised by the client, candidates have been asked to hold current and active SC clearance for this position.
In addition, we have been informed by the client that this role falls Inside of IR35.

Role Overview:
- Developing detailed solutions, documenting low level designs to enable the implementation of these solutions based on high level designs created by the architecture team.
- Providing technical leadership to engineers during implementation including hands on support

- Stakeholders are internal, and external and may include client technical representatives and client business representatives.

- The ability to create low level designs and provide leadership and hands on support in the implementation and any issues encountered
- Extensive technical infrastructure background with deep knowledge of Wintel technologies and virtualisation.
- Extensive experience in the design and implementation of infrastructure and systems

- Ability to lead the low level design development, deployment, and technical quality of medium to large business unit level IT based solutions within Wintel technology areas).
- Be able to provide low level design input into multiple medium sized projects concurrently. For larger engagements, a single active project is reasonable.
- Can validate/evaluate if an information systems or operational architecture meets technical requirements and specifications.
- Ideally aware of architectural, development and operational methodologies (eg, Zachman, TOGAF, ITSM,) .
- Applies appropriate methodologies and SME knowledge to resolve complex business issues.
- Broad knowledge of infrastructure technologies
- Deep IT industry knowledge in specific areas.
- Deep knowledge of IT and business standards and best practices pertaining to Wintel related technologies and how to apply them appropriately in solutions.
- Expert or Master level of knowledge of in Wintel and associated infrastructure and virtualisation technologies
