Global IT Solutions Company requires a suitably experienced Unix Design Specialist for their client.

The role will be hybrid working, 2 - 3 days based on-site in either Blackpool or Newcastle.

You must already be SC Cleared for this 12 month contract role.

Contract Location: Blackpool or Newcastle - 2 - 3 days on-site & Remote Working

Contract Length: 12 months

Day Rate: Negotiable Day Rate - Inside IR35

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally suited to an Infrastructure Engineer with significant experience of Unix/Oracle Operating Systems, and Virtualisation/Container technologies such as VMware, Nutanix AHV, OLVM and Openshift
  • Skilled Practitioner and a role model in Infrastructure solutions, ensuring adherence to best practice with a focus on operational stability, resilience, and availability.
  • Work closely with Architects, Product Development Units, and Operations Infrastructure Engineers, supporting the design, implementation, and operationalising of products and services, aligned to the Departments Technical Reference Architecture (TRA) and Security and Compliance Standards.
  • Supporting Product Development Units with the design and build of hosting solutions, confirming requirements and producing High Level and Low Level Design documentation, with a focus on Design to Operate' and Secure by Design' principles
  • Design and implement infrastructure services/solutions to meet strategic plans and roadmaps, ensuring alignment to hosting architectural principals with a focus on Design to Operate' and Secure by Design'.
  • Provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects and Product Development Units, ensuring definition and delivery of requisite non-functional requirements to architectural and roadmap developments.
  • Provide specialist infrastructure technical support and assistance to projects and Product Development Units, confirming requirements and producing High Level and Low Level Design documentation
  • Management of the risk register for individual technical area, ensuring appropriate reporting and mitigation plans and actions are implemented.
  • Development and implementation of Services Design and Build service improvement plans.
