Description

Event Manager (ITIL/BMC/IT Infrastructure/SolarWinds/Riverbed/NetIM/ARX/WhatsUp Gold/SCOM) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 12 months contract (to be taken in 6 months rolling stints), to be based in North Yorkshire with some remote, home working (hybrid working).

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • The successful applicant will be an experienced ITIL Event Manager, whose role will primarily involve event management monitoring IT infrastructure on the client's live system.
  • Must have strong BMC experience and knowledge
  • Raising and responding to Alerts, Events and Incidents, including handing off each of these to the relevant Resolver Group or service desk
  • Supporting the Authority to develop best practices and if required, implementing such practices in relation to: Configuration of relevant systems with respect to Events and Alerts. Activities which will result in the detection, notification, filtering and correlation of all Events and Alerts. Engineering and managing Event Management Dashboards. Identifying circumstances where an Alert is required and configuring Alerts to meet the requirements of the Event Management Service stakeholders.
  • The Event Manager must have subject matter expert-level knowledge of a Monitoring Solution such as BMC suite of services and some experience in the Relevant Technologies:
    • SolarWinds and associated modules (NPM, SAM, NTA, VMAN)
    • Riverbed NetIM/Application Response Expert (ARX)
    • BMC suite of services (Truesight/Discovery)
    • WhatsUp Gold
    • Microsoft System Centre Operation Manager (SCOM)
  • An understanding of Microsoft Windows Event monitoring and Network Event Monitoring.
