The position is field based. Accommodation is hotel-style with all meals provided. Position is on a 28/28 rotation by fixed wing aircraft.
For purposes of leave coverage, extended stays may also be required.
Position description - Purpose:
The Civil Construction Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of Civil Construction and Fabrication for engineering projects and modifications to existing facilities. This includes construction HSSE, contractor management, planning, quality control, and hand over to customer departments.
Position description - Accountabilities:
Provide Civil Construction Engineering discipline expertise and advice during design, construction and commissioning phases of projects. Provide constructability advice to the engineering team.
Provide design advice to maintenance and operations departments for repairs and modifications to existing civil facilities and structures.
Manage construction interfaces with drilling supervisors for handover of recently drilled well sites for hook-up to the production system.
Liaise with operations team for agreeing brown field execution challenges, Simops Plan and controls and ensuring construction deliverables meet the necessary requirements, handover of systems is planned and managed efficiently and all documentation is in place to affect final handover.
Ensure that the design and construction interfaces and coordination are managed efficiently, facilitating a swift resolution for any technical queries at site. Liaise with for agreed inspections and verifications by Civil Engineering and resolution of technical Queries during construction.
Provide leadership in HSSE toward Contractor Management and all people on site to ensure zero injuries in engineering activities. Attendance at Contractors monthly HSSE meetings is mandatory and the Construction Supervisor is expected to show visible leadership to the Contractor on all elements of Company HSSE management system.
Ensure materials/equipment usage and reconciliation during and after project execution.
Ensure that The Company's Gabon Engineering management and quality standards are applied by the Contractor.
Perform review of schedule baselines, progress updates and management of change.
Manage and communicate the Construction and Fabrication performance by the contractors.
Verify compliance with the requirements of local authorities and regulations during construction activities.
Build a cohesive and strong construction team on site.
Understanding and knowledge of the French language would be an advantage.
Position description - Dimensions
Financial dimensions: While the position has no direct financial dimension, the Construction Supervisor will manage projects and activities with an expenditure of approximately $USD 20million.

Experience and Qualifications required
Bachelors degree in a relevant engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience on construction management/supervision on projects executed in a brownfields oil and gas environment; or
HND (or equivalent) in relevant engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years experience on construction management/supervision on projects executed in a brownfields oil and gas environment.
