Real are currently recruiting for an application support manager within an investment bank in London. This is a contract role that is looking to roll on a 6 month basis and will pay up to £640 per day.The main purpose of this role is to carry out and take responsibility for the tasks and activities relating to the operation of applications in production in GS-IT with the following goals:
- Provide day-to-day technical support for Front Office Fixed Income trading staff
- Look for opportunities to optimise operation in production
- Implement changes in accordance with Change Management requirements
- Maintain the stability of the FX platforms and look for opportunities to improve monitoring of applications
Furthermore the ideal candidate will have 4/5 years experience working in a trade floor environment, they must possess excellent communication skills at all levels, be able to work in a pressurized environment giving a bespoke level of customer service to the trading and sales staff and be able to demonstrate the ability to work as either part of a team or alone when necessary.

In order to be successful in this process, the candidate must have:
- Good understanding of Fixed Income & Currency products
- Prior experience working with in-house Fixed Income & Currency developed systems
- Knowledge sharing via Wiki, training sessions
- Adherence to Service Management principals
- Cooperation in complex problems and fault analyses and their resolution
- Assurance of the operation of applications while maintaining the SLAs and the internal and external regulatory requirements
- Maintenance of support documentation necessary for operation ( functional / technical)
- Backup and recovery management
- User support for functional and technical questions about the application
- Cooperation in user acceptance tests
- Cooperation in monitoring or alternatively purchasing software licenses
- Involvement in on-call duty regulations in accordance with the applicable company agreements if this is made necessary by the SLAs
- Consultation with customers for new or changed requirements, including cooperation in the preparation of technical concepts and in cost/benefit issues
- Understanding of the ITRS Geneos monitoring suite
