Description

Within the Investment Management Team, our External Audit function specialises in helping the world's leading Investment Management companies. Within the IM sector, we have a wide variety of Clients in the Private Equity and Hedge Fund spaces, as well as the traditional Asset Managers. Our core team combines specialist External Audit knowledge and experience with relevant industry experience and access to the full breadth of clients expertise to provide first-class support to our clients.

My clients have a strong understanding of their clients' operations, their industry and the issues they face, which in turn enables them to provide for their Clients with informed and relevant advice. The combination of the specialist skills, industry expertise and on-going investment in training and development allows them to anticipate complex business problems for our Clients and recommend preventative action.

Responsibilities

This role will have responsibility for:
  • Managing a portfolio of clients on a day-to-day basis.
  • Audit planning, day to day management of field teams including review of audit work, liaison with key Client staff and the management of the reporting process.
  • Represent to senior members of the Client; reporting directly to a Partner on certain Clients whilst on larger Clients work within a team
  • Ensuring completion of audits/projects within agreed timescales.
  • Managing teams at client sites.
  • Working with other divisions within the organisation.
  • Budgeting time allocation to assignments and explaining variances from budget.
  • Participation in due diligence or other transaction support engagements.
  • Reviewing accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/IAS.
  • To have a broader perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; have a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.


Requirements

A successful candidate will possess the following:
  • ACA qualification or (equivalent)
  • Knowledge of FSA regulation
  • Experience of Auditing clients within the Investment Management sector
  • Understanding of impact of financial crisis on Investment Management sector
  • Experience of IAS / UK GAAP conversions
  • Impressive analytical capabilities
  • Highly motivated and committed
  • Positive and ambitious attitude
  • Knowledge of Current economic and market trends
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships
  • Highly proficient in written and oral communication
  • Project management capabilities
  • Aptitude with MS Word, Excel and Project
  • Understanding of securitisation processes
  • Proven ability to use initiative, adapt and independently solve problems
  • Flexibility to travel
