Role: IP Design Engineer

Daily Rate: Competitive

Location: Dublin City Centre

Type: 12 month contract with view for extension

IP Design Engineer with proven background in Cisco IP Design with knowledge of ASR9000 / Cisco 9K routers / Service Provider routing / switching, MPLS, IP Core Network / Edge, combined ideally with enterprise / Data centre / Cisco Nexus and strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders (any pre sales skills would be a plus but this is an internal role) is required by technology giant in Dublin to work on a mix of service provider & enterprise network projects.

The day-to-day of this role will involve working with a dedicated IP network design and strategy team and will include extensive High Level Design, Proof of Concepts, assessing new technologies. The right candidate will also be working on design standards and documentation.

Key skills for the role include

-Designing large service provider networks and data centres using high end routing & switching equipment, specifically Cisco ASR & Nexus platforms, and desirable skills include F5 ADC's and Palo Alto Firewalls.

-A strong understanding of the anatomy of service provider core routing systems such as CRS, ASR9K, etc.

-Designing/operating hosted solution infrastructure for large ISP's and a strong understanding of service provider BGP design, service resilience, etc.

-Practical experience with deployment for MPLS-TE for capacity optimisation, network resilience and fast convergence

-A standards based service catalogue approach and modular design.

-Familiarity in testing methodology and tooling.

-The personal drive to remain at the forefront of understanding for new and emerging technologies.
