Job Title: Income AccountantEmployer: NHS Trust
Location: South Coast
Rate: £ Per Day
Contract: 6 Months
Real Staffing are assisting an NHS Trust based, who require an NHS Accountant to provide support to their Income & Contracts team.
The trust are looking for an NHS Accountant with a background within Income Finance or Financial Management who can help to cover an understaffed area of the department. Whilst the trust are flexible on the accountant's background, it is important that they have prior experience of working within an NHS hospital.
The Income Accountant will be expected to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:
- Reporting on the Trust's income performance against the agreed SLAs with PCTs, Private Patients and other Health Bodies
- Ensure that documentation is up to date for all contracts/SLAs for services provided/received
- Work with the Contracts Manager to ensure the Trust is meeting the requirements of PbR
- Ensure there is a link between the planning cycle, contract negotiations and budget setting.
- Work closely with and be actively involved with service line reporting and reviews
- Influence and direct budget Managers to ensure income is maximised and financial control is maintained
- Co-ordinate and be an active member of the Contract Performance Meeting with local PCTs.
- Negotiate on behalf of the Trust SLA agreements for Contracts and SLAs
- Ensure a comprehensive income register is maintained
- Appraise and challenge business cases and developments through financial appraisal
- Liaise with and support Internal Audit programmes
Essential Skills:
- NHS Acute or Foundation Trust
- CCAB Part-Qualified (QBE accepted)
- Income or Management Accountant
- Knowledge of PbR principles
- Good system skills
