Description
An opportunity has arisen for an SCADA Engineer to work on a contract basis for the Electrical and Control Section, for a Large Manufacturing company.Location: Buenos Aires
Start Date - Mid April
Contract Length - 3 months
The scope of work consists of:
1. Providing expertise in the iFIX SCADA/PC systems/networks area to the other lead engineers covering different areas of the plant.
2. Integrating the different SCADA systems together
3. Confirming correct operation of PC systems and network systems
4. Providing cover to manage the contractor for a couple of weeks while the other engineer in the cold end is away from site. At the period this happens, it is planned that some systems will be getting powered up and so SCADA testing can start with communications to the PLCs.
5. Commissioning the SCADA systems in the Cold End and associated communications with the different plant items, all based on Modbus over Ethernet (MBE).
6. Carrying acceptance testing out on iFIX servers and clients once installed by the suppliers, and complete the test documents for handover.
7. Creating backups/images using Acronis, and test documentation for all client and server systems supplied for the site and to bring copies back for records
8. Providing some training on iFIX and backups as required. This is not envisaged to be significant as the 3rd party suppliers will train on their applications and the cold end application is an upgrade of an existing system.
9. Other iFIX SCADA systems are used elsewhere on site and are the responsibility of the local team. Some support work may be required on these systems as they are commissioned providing it does not interfere with the work on the main line systems as described above.
Requirements
Specific experience should be held with the GE SCADA system FIX32 (the existing systems) and iFIX5.5/W7 (the upgraded systems). The candidate is expected to have experience with multiple client server installations.
