Top-tier international law firm is seeking a proactive, commercially-minded Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions associate to join a small but busy office in one of the CEE’s most vibrant cities. In Poland, the firm’s Warsaw office has been ranked by benchmark publications such as Chambers, IFLR and Legal 500 as among the leading law firms.
The team advises multinational and Poland industrial and service businesses, leading international private equity and venture capital funds and major commercial and investment banks in structuring and completing domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures and equity investments and exits.
Key areas of work you would expect to be involved with are:
Private equity M&A, private equity, public M&A, equity offerings
Reorganizations/restructurings; and corporate advisory.
Within each of these areas, key responsibilities include preparing and sending documents to clients, assisting in drafting, reviewing and negotiation of documents, managing the due diligence exercise and managing data room information.
You are expected to coordinate internal teams and foreign lawyers and
you will have some involvement in transaction management for signing and completion of a deal.
Responsibilities
Taking initial instructions internally or externally, delegating where appropriate
Perform research, due diligence, and information management
Draft and review documentation, demonstrating familiarity with precedents & market standards
Take a lead role in advising the client under appropriate supervision
Demonstrate thorough market knowledge to identify current trends and concerns in relevant industry sectors
Be able to present idea to the client to resolve current market issues and anticipate potential problems supervise team and demonstrate control through effective delegation
Coordinate, coach, and monitor the work of others to facilitate achievement of objectives
Network with clients to capitalize on new business opportunities
Deliver practice-specific training to develop junior associates
Requirements
You must be UK-qualified with relevant experience, including at least 2-3 years PQE
Ideally, you will have a broad range of experience in the corporate field with a keen interest in all aspects of M&A focusing on Poland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the wider CEE/CIS region
You must have exceptional networking and organizational skills, with an ability to communicate assertively when under pressure
Fluency is Polish and English (ideally polish as a mother tongue), Turkish or Russian would be advantageous
