I am currently Recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager within an expanding pharmaceutical company located in South East England. Manufacturing innovative products that aim to treat rare diseases, the company has a global presence within twenty countries and is still growing. The role purpose:
The role is a key position within the company requiring management of commercial manufacturing operations with external contract manufacturers and suppliers.
You will also manage the outsourcing of activities associated with Raw Material, API Manufacture and Medical Device operations from both a Technical and Commercial perspective.
Your responsibilities
Reporting in to the Site Director you will :
* Lead, manage, plan, co-ordinate and be responsible for the company commercial growing and external manufacturing suppliers
* Deliver commercial growing and external manufacturing plans on time and in full to the quality specified in the approved protocols and technical agreements.
* Support the company pipeline and growth plans
* Manage approved budget and expenses for commercial growing and external manufacturing operations.
* Support QA Activities for the CMO such as audits, ensure compliance with GxPs
* Ensure contract companies meet the necessary standards and company policy requirements for Environmental, Health & Safety.
* To work with suppliers to develop Key Performance Metrics
* To support finance in managing the commercial contracts.
* Manage external suppliers so the company requirements for commercial growing and external manufacturing needs are produced on time and within budgeted costs.
* To help manage change controls, alerts, deviations, complaints, OOS and ensure these are executed and closed out in a timely manner.
* To oversee troubleshooting and resolution of product quality and technical problems with external contract suppliers with support from Botanical group, Production and Quality team. To lead cross-functional teams for problem solving.
* To manage and maintain effective financial controls in order to ensure that the business meets its financial targets.
* To produce a monthly report for commercial growing and external manufacturing.
* Ensure external contract staff are trained and competent in the necessary procedures to carry out their responsibilities.
* Take part in cross functional projects

Your profile
* A background in Manufacturing or Supply Chain is essential.
* Knowledge of QA standards, audits, inspections
* Experience in Pharmaceutical industry or CMO
* A science or engineering background would be preferable, qualification to degree standard would be an advantage
* Proven Commercial Operations experience.
* About 10 years experience
