Huxley Associates and one of the UK's leading names in the Design & Manufacture of Engineered Solutions for the Subsurface Industry are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design & Development on a permanent basis, due to succession planning and business growth in .
The responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer will be:
- Undertake a wide variety of engineering design from updating existing designs and files to working on elements of new design projects.
- Verify designs through calculation, create design models and drawings, create test procedures and manuals, assist with hands on work during assembly and testing of prototype, new designs or modified designs.
- Carry out design and development work for existing and new products.
For this Senior Mechanical Design & Development Engineer role, my client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who is degree educated in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) and who has the following experience:
- Sound Mechanical Design experience and technical ability
- 2D/3D CAD skills
- Good understanding of machining processes and materials application
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of DFMA / DFMEA
- Knowledge of materials and material selection.
- FEA, and application of classical stress analysis calculations.
- Passion for Engineering, looking to build a career
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, pressure directives or precision engineered products would give an advantage but not essential
Experience of Mechanical Engineering in Gears, Drives, Machinery, Materials Handling, Drive Chain, Mechanical Handling, Geometric Tolerance, Complex Assemblies etc would be of interest for this Mechanical Design Engineer role.
