Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Generation -Nigeria
Progressive Global Energy are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Electrical Engineer with High Voltage experience of Power Distributions systems to join and manage their Electrical and Mechanical capability in Nigeria.
The main responsibilities for this role are as follows -
- Line management of M&E staff for the maintenance of the M&E elements of the power generation station on the Island
- Ensure that there is efficient, reliable and safe operation of High and Low voltage distribution systems and equipment
- Prepare and develop effective maintenance plans and methods that ensure all station equipment, plant and machinery and other assets are maintained to a functioning standard
- Direct and be responsible for the control room operations of the Power Station
- Produce reports on all matter associated with equipment and plant performance conditions and maintenance requirements including analysis of trends in order to assist Engineering Manager in planning and budgeting
- Ensure HSE working practice is implemented and adhered to at all times
- Review and support staff performance and provide coaching and mentoring where appropriate
The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -
- HNC / HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience of High Voltage switching and the operation and maintenance of HV distribution systems
- Must be able to install, test and commission HV and LV Switchgear
- Good organisation skills
- IT Literate in Microsoft Office packages
- Comprehensive knowledge of safe working practices and safety procedures
- Good communications skills, ideally gained within a supervisory or management post
- Full current drivers licence
- Prior experience in working in an overseas environment would be highly advantageous
