Description
Contracts Officer, ideally with public sector/OJEU experience, required for initial 3 month contract with public sector client in Inverness.
Duties required:
- To participate and act as the focal point for specific ranges of strategic sourcing/collaborative/standard procurement and contracting activities.
- To extract and interpret data from the procurement and accounting systems to enable and inform strategic sourcing projects.
- To assist in the development of suppliers and available contracting options and processes, and to provide specific support in the management of suppliers.
- Provide contractual support for the Principal Contracts Officers.
- Manage day to day contractual processes of the Procurement service, development of specific contract terms and service level agreements.
- Assist with the production and maintenance of all project documentation including tendering documentation, specific contract terms and conditions, and supplier/contract management information.
- Deal with Service and supplier management in respect of assigned categories of contracts.
- To guide and direct evaluation teams to ensure openness, fairness, and equality of treatment
Essential Skills:
- Experience of and ability to conduct tender exercises unsupported
- Exercise of an ability to develop contract documents
- Assessing and deciding on the correct choice of approach to procurement options in individual exercises
- Dealing with the public and/or suppliers
- Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent experience
- Ability to analyse data quickly and accurately
- Understanding of contract law and related matters
