Supply Chain Manager
My Client a leading Engineering Services Consultancy based in Hurn, South East Dorset (or Bristol) is urgently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Specialist to join their team for a minimum of 3 months with potential of becoming a permanent member of staff. This is a full time role working between the hours of 8:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday.
Supplier Chain Manager responsibilities:
Working with the Major Bids team, develop the Supply Chain strategy, following a structured strategic sourcing process to select the best supply chain solution in terms of capability, risk profile and total cost of Tasks and Responsibilities
- Working with the Major Bids team, develop the Supply Chain strategy, following a structured strategic sourcing process to select the best supply chain solution in terms of capability, risk profile and total cost of ownership.
- Define and deliver the Procurement Plan aligned with the overall Project Plan.
- Working closely with the commercial team to ensure the flow down of appropriate Customer terms to the supply base including drafting subcontracts and frameworks.
- Ensure the timely preparation of proposals and suppliers quotations in support of the bid.
- Working closely with the wider procurement team across D&S and Group to ensure that existing supply chain trading relationships and capability are leveraged.
- Manage the supplier relationships throughout the bid process. Complexity and strategic importance of the supplier will dictate at what level this is managed, on a case by case basis.
Main Accountabilities
- Implementing robust supply chains to support delivery of customer contracts.
- Providing timely supply chain solutions and advice to support bids.
- Managing and mitigating supply chain risk.
- Meeting business targets on savings and performance.
- Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- Significant experience in negotiating a wide range of strategic procurement contracts.
- Knowledge of public and private sector commercial contracting.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience and/or CIPS.
- Knowledge and application of a variety of contract forms.
- Previous experience of availability contracts in the defence sector would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of Category Strategy Deployment through a formal process
