Description:
  • This person will be responsible for problem solving and correcting shop issues, basic analysis (hand calculation & Creo), design, coordinating detailing, and implementing their design solutions into a production environment.
  • To complete this will require a high level of collaboration with our process partners and suppliers to ensure that the functional requirements, quality, and manufacturability targets are met and that each design is cost affective.
  • This position will also work with other system teams to ensure their component mounting needs are satisfied without compromising the integrity or durability of the main frame.
  • The type of component designs in scope includes large and small fabricated steel structures, castings, and forgings.
  • The applicable engineering disciplines include machine design, strength of materials, structural fatigue, noise/vibration/harshness (NVH), pin joints, and bolted joint design.
SKILLS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Bachelor's degree in accredited Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or Materials Science curriculum w/a minimum GPA of 2.8
(2) Demonstrated ability to work well in collaborative environment and to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams.
(3) Excellent analytical skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Proficiency with solid modelling software (Pro/E preferred).
(2) Five years of experience in large structure design.
(3) Hands-on experience with machinery, engines, manufacturing processes, or welding, etc.
