Description

I am currently working with an NHS trust in the South East of England who is looking for a Directorate HR manager to cover maternity leave for 9 months.

The day rate is £200 to £250 depending on experience.

They are looking for someone with good experience as a generalist HR manager, but can take on change projects if necessary.

Someone who can hit the ground running, with current experience in an NHS provider.

Education and Qualifications

Full Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

A degree or equivalent qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience working within Human Resources

Knowledge and Experience

Demonstrable experience in a Senior Human Resources Officer / Advisor or HR Manager role.

Human resources experience within the NHS or within another large public sector organisation that provides transferable knowledge and skills.

Well developed knowledge of current human resources practice and employment law.

Evidence of CPD to demonstrate regular attendance on employment law updates courses and employee relations.

Significant experience in an operational generalist role, covering a wide range of HR responsibilities to include recruitment, discipline, grievance, redundancy and changing terms and conditions of employment.

Evidence of providing professional HR advice on disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings ensuring a consistent Trust wide approach. Evidence of advising on grading issues.

To have had previous responsibility of providing a HR service to key client groups or business areas working both with employees and Snr mgrs .

Supervision of staff.

Skills and Aptitudes

Effective communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to produce complex reports, policies and procedures incorporating business economic and corporate factors.

Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in the areas of grievance resolution, counselling, influencing and team building.

Ability to deal with managers and employees at all levels within an organisation.

Ability to analyse workforce data and advise managers on implications in respect of meeting workforce KPIs e,g. sickness absence, appraisal activity and vacancy reports.
