Software company in Marietta, GA is seeking an experienced Senior VMware/UCS Engineer for Contract job.

Provide multiple engineering solutions across multiple business units to provide virtual environment to support the infrastructure for the business. Define key concepts for planning, deployment, integration, operation and/or enhancement of engineering systems
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provides leadership for engineering of systems, system elements, interfacing systems, components, devices, and/or processes.
- Function: Technology Solutions industry leader partnered with Cisco Systems Switches and UCS, Microsoft, EMC, VMware & Citrix
- Will be the act as a Subject Matter Expert for Cisco UCS and VMware ESX environments.
- Virtualization/Server/Storage Solutions Architect, or SME in EMC, HP, Cisco, VMware, Citrix
- Must possess a strong understanding of: IT Storage and associated Virtualization technologies
- Applies best industry practices and standards, leading-edge technology, and innovative solutions to intractable problems.
- Works directly with customer management to apply advances principles, theories, and concepts and develops comprehensive solutions to complex problems.
- Employs methodologies for guiding others in problem resolution. Develops insightful solutions to meet fiscal, technological, and schedule constraints.
- Manages multiple related and interdependent projects to collectively deliver a desired business outcome based on varying degrees of complexity
- Rigorously manages scope to ensure agreed/approved/appropriate value is delivered and commitments are achieved within time, cost, and quality parameters
- Manages ESX VMware infrastructure projects from design, build, through implementation and operational turn-over, with high levels of complexity
- Responsible for project set up for Virtual Environment sponsored projects within the technology systems of record, with the ability to motivate team members and drive change.
- Provides input into development of business cases and technology estimates
- Develops and manages the tasks within the overall work plan
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Typically requires BS, CS or equivalent plus 8-10 years related technical experience.
- Must have hands-on technical skills and experience in many technologies and protocols.
- Strong knowledge in IP internetworking including routing protocols, LAN Switching and security.
- Strong communications skills and good technical writing skills.
- Skills and experience dealing with high pressure situations and quick changing circumstances
- Skills and experience in working independently, determining methods and procedures on new assignments
- Demonstrated ability to lead others in team.
- Strong interpersonal and team work skills.
- 5-7+ years' experience in configurations and support VMware.
- 5-7+ years' experience in configurations and support Cisco UCS environments.
