CONFIRMATIONS SPECIALIST - CANARY WHARF BASED - Contract role

A tier one investment bank is currently seeking to recruit a Confirmations Specialist to join their Trade Validation and Control department in the offices based in Canary Wharf.

As a Confirmations Specialist you will be responsible for the timely confirmation of the Bank's OTC derivative transactions via electronic and paper means. Recent implementation of EMIR and CFTC regulatory requirements mean that the primary focus of the Department is to achieve and maintain compliance against these commitments, as well as act as the second line of defence for the firm on unauthorised trading.

Responsibilities of a Confirmations Specialist:
*The Department has a footprint in 6 locations globally, the FID and Equity drafting team in London consists of high performing SME's possessing both product expertise and analytical skill sets that are utilised to deliver BAU objectives (drafting ISDA documentation for complex Credit and Interest Rate Derivative products) as well as Industry and CS change initiatives.
*Exposure to OTC Fixed Income and FX vanilla and structured products with possible exposure to other asset classes. Drafting bespoke confirmations using the 2002 and 2006 ISDA definitions for Fixed Income products, which include but not limited to IRS Swaps, Swaptions, Inflation Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, Bond TRS and Structured Interest Rate Swaps.
*Draft and check both vanilla and structured confirmations inline with the confirmations regulatory targets (EMIR/Dodd Frank) of drafting confirmations on trade date.
*Resolve internal and external documentation queries by liaising effectively with the Front Office, Middle Office, Legal and Product Control areas.
*Work and partner with vendor offshore to streamline drafting processes. Identify and implement process changes to drive efficiency and capacity saves.
*Work on timely confirmations and ad-hoc projects to drive efficiency and streamline processes within the paper drafting space. Collaborating with internal peers and stakeholders to deliver paper confirmation infrastructure and process changes. Conduct testing prior to IT enhancement releases.

Key skills for a Confirmations Specialist:

*The OTC business supported is primarily for UK entities - the candidate should possess a good understanding of the regulatory environment and challenges that EMIR presents.
*Good knowledge of both Credit, Interest Rates Derivatives and Equity Derivatives an advantage.
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and accommodate varying levels of volume
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, whilst working under pressure
*Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
*Confident personality
*Pro-active and highly motivated
*Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the organisation within Operations;
*Strong analytical and financial mind-set;
*Competent multitasking abilities with the ability to work to tight time frames
