Description
An Interface Engineer is required to join a new UK offshore wind farm project on a contract basis. The successful person will have prior experience in offshore wind and be fully able to communicate with project teams and stakeholders, to support package managers and to deliver the required coordination and documentation required by the position.Interface Engineer duties:
. Co-ordinate multi-disciplined engineering work between assets and contract boundaries
. Control and management of interfaces between both permanent and temporary works
. Support to package managers in the management of information flow and contractual documentation across the project
. Identification of technical interface issues and the facilitation of their resolution
. Apply and maintain interface management tools and monitoring processes
. Communicate interface risk to the Engineering and Package Managers and other relevant project stakeholders
. Ensure the compatibility of technical specifications and scopes throughout the design phase, in supply contracts and during manufacturing
. Co-ordination of regular interface meetings with suppliers
. Act as Technical Officer on relevant external engineering consultancy contracts
. Plan and implement works contracts such as mock-ups, test pieces and trials required for design development
. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practice
. Actively support the design review and approval process
. Ensure HSE&S considerations are fundamental inputs to the design process
. Participate in Design Safety Reviews (including constructability and operability)
Interface Engineer required skills:
. University educated or equivalent level of technical/engineering experience
. Experienced in Offshore Wind
. Mechanical or civil background is preferred
. Experience in the management of interfaces
. Excellent communication and project co-ordination skills
. Commercially aware
. Experience and understanding of the interfaces around offshore cables is particularly helpful.
