The Company and Role:
Given the fact that the Cable infrastructure in Belgium will be opened for other operators, my client has started a project to offer television over Cable.
Therefore my client are looking for a experienced engineer, with thorough knowledge of Cable technology and familiar with Interactive Digital TV.
He/she will be part of the team leading the analysis and deployment of this project.
Your main tasks will be:
*study the Business requirements
*translate business requirements into system requirements
*write high-level concept paper(s), describing the overall system requirements
*break down the system requirements into manageable subareas (Digital Right Management, Set top Box, Back End, OSS/BSS, ..)
*support teams or individuals who are focusing on the analysis and deployment of these sub-areas
*participate to discussions with external partners
*lead discussions with internal partners
*report to management about progress and problems
*contribute to the financial aspects of the project (cost-benefit analysis)
*act as overall technical support for the project manager
Your profile:
*We are looking for a high-profile engineer, who is able to get quickly acquainted with the technical complexity of a large project
*make detailed analysis, as well as keep a synthetic view over the project
*write comprehensive documents
*organise and lead meetings with internal and external partners
*report and communicate in a clear way, depending on the audience (business, external partners, technical teams)
*prioritise and de-prioritise sub tasks, keeping the timing and budgetary constraints into account
*make decisions or support other decisions with an open mind
Your education:
*Master in Industrial or Engineering Sciences
Your experience:
*At least 10 year professional experience in IT environment, among which, several years working with Cable technology.
You will be fluent in English and preferably French and/or Dutch
