MD Financial Management is seeking to hire a Quality Management Representative for our Ottawa based team.

What will you have the opportunity do in this role?

Reporting directly to the Manager of Quality Management and Trade Reconciliation, the successful candidate will work with teams in Financial Services Operations to help manage the quality of financial, demographic, and non-financial information. The ability and desire to govern your individual responsibilities in coordination with MD Financial Management's mission statement and goals is paramount in this role.

The Quality Management Representative will have two key departmental objectives to execute:

  • Operational excellence, which includes delivery of consistent, high quality, and timely service to internal and external clients
  • Continuous process improvement

The position will allow you to become familiar with registered financial products and their corresponding tax implications, fixed income and mutual fund trades, transfers. As well, to deliver on these two key objectives, your past administrative or financial services experience will allow you to successfully verify transactions on current and nominee accounts.

This involves verifications of:

  • Additions
  • Modifications
  • Deletions of all types of transactions

Daily cross-functional work within the enterprise and operations will be required to drive continuous improvement. By participating in process improvement activities and acting as a resource for other departments in the area of quality management, you will be able to identify and communicate changes to the verification process as a result of system updates and changes.

What experience will allow you the greatest success in this role?

  • University or College degree in Business with a focus in finance
  • 2 years working experience in an Operations function within the financial services industry coupled with knowledge of retirement savings plans, mutual funds and retirement income funds
  • Completion of or enrolment in the Investment Funds or Canadian Securities Course is a definite asset
  • Above average organizational and multi-tasking skills that will allow you to successfully prioritize and achieve targets in a fast-paced environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical for success
  • Bilingualism is a definite asset
