My client, a leading public sector organisation, is seeking to recruit a skilled Procurement Director to join their team onsite in Cambridgeshire. As a Procurement Director, you will be responsible for leading your team to procure and manage a range of infrastructure projects and services to fulfil business objectives in accordance with Government procurement regulations and approval processes. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of procurement/purchasing experience as well as a thorough understanding of Government procurement policy.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

*You will be responsible for leading your team to procure and manage a range of infrastructure projects and services to fulfil business objectives in accordance with Government procurement regulations and approval processes
*Procuring requirements across the client contracts.
*Developing and deciding procurement and commercial strategies, conducting scrutiny and assurance and business and resource planning to achieve goals.
*Manage contracts to ensure they continue to deliver value for money and participate in the client's wider supplier relationship management processes.
*Member of the client Commercial Management Committee to help formulate the way in which the Commercial function operates.
*Developing and mentoring your team to build professional capability and deliver excellent commercial support to the overall achievement of commercial and corporate objectives.

Key Knowledge and Skills

*Thorough understanding of Government procurement policy.
*They will be an accomplished leader capable of driving forward procurement goals while developing the team to achieve their challenging objectives and fulfil their full potential as professional commercial officers.
Relevant senior management and job-related experience at an appropriate level;
*MCIPS or equivalent.
*Strategic management, supplier management, fraud experience and experience of delivering change programmes. Managing a team of 40 staff.
*Ideally 10 years board level experience,
