Systems Engineer - System Design and Weapons Systems experience.
A Systems Engineer with systems design and military environment experience is required to work on a four month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Cumbria.
This is a 4 month contract working for a UK leading defence company.
Overview of the Systems Engineer contract role
A vacancy has arisen for a professional systems engineer to work within the weapons design team on projects through all stages: from the initial concept; through the design and development stage; to the testing of one or more prototypes; and through to final manufacture and implementation of a new product or system.
Key skills required for the Systems Engineering.
- A proven track record in systems engineering in a weapons system support environment
- Practitioner experience of the Life Cycle Management (LCM) process
- Experience in use of Systems Engineering (SE) tools and techniques
- Experience/knowledge of 'System/Assessment' techniques
- Familiarity with Risk Assessment Process
- Experience in Requirements Management
- Good team player with leadership skills and adaptable to change
- Good communication skills and ability to operate at all levels within the company and with the customer
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
